The Beeswax Food Wraps

Non-toxic zerowaste food wraps, by BALUCHON

Store food naturally, and without creating waste, with those handmade non-toxic solutions.

Baluchon's food storage wraps are a wonderful, natural, breathable, and reusable alternative to plastic cling film, aluminum foil or plastic tupperwares. And best of all, they are compostable! With proper care, a single beeswax sheet can last for several months, which also saves you money! After that, they can easily be rewaxed (for free, by Baluchon).

Perfect for wrapping vegetables, fruits, bread, cheese, sandwiches, snacks and nuts without plastic, without creating waste. They also are the best companion to shop for wet items like tofu at the market or at bulk stores, or to wrap your food on the go (lunch boxes, biscuits, chocolate, sandwiches...).

Our beeswax wraps are the only beeswax wraps handmade in Shanghai, using 100% cotton fabrics and food grade organic ingredients. Every ingredient used comes from the earth, and will return to the earth.

We have designed different sizes to cover all your wrapping needs in the kitchen. Our wraps are sold by sets of 3 pieces (1 extra-small (XS), 1 small (S) and 1 medium (M)) or single sheets (L).

HOW ARE THEY USED?
Wrap a sandwich, cheese, produce, or cover a bowl. Use the warmth of your hands to form the wrap over the top of a bowl, half a lemon, or a piece of cheese. The wrap will hold its shape when it cools, creating a seal. Not recommended for use with raw meat.

WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF?
Baluchon’s beeswax wraps are handmade with natural ingredients, and love. All our wraps are 100% cotton, waxed with organic food grade beeswax & pine gum resin. They are designed to obtain a malleable food wrap that can be used again and again. As they are handmade piece by piece, they will vary in size and colour between batches.

HOW LONG DO WRAPS LAST?
Wraps can last a few months before re-waxing is needed. To refresh them yourself when they get wrinkly, place them on a flat baking tray on a sheet of baking paper and heat in the oven (max. 80 degrees celsius) to melt ingredients again. Or place between two sheets of baking paper and iron.

Wash them in cool/cold water with a gentle dish soap on a soft sponge.
Air dry, fold and store flat or rolled for a longer shelf life.
Beeswax will naturally be stickier when hotter and more rigid when cold.

In any case, avoid ANY source of heat, such as hot/warm water, oven and microwave.
